About The Teacher

My name is Jamie O'Hara, and it is my pleasure and honor to work with your students each day. This is my eighteenth year under the employ of the Etiwanda School District and my thirteenth year as a teacher.

This is my fifth year as a Wildcat! Prior to that, I taught 5th grade at both Golden and DWL, as well as the first grade at DWL. I also taught 7th for two years at SIS before joining the fabulous 8th-grade team at EIS; I love learning from and with my students. Over the school year, I will be working on implementing the Common Core Standards expectations that are in effect and I will be pushing my students to hone their critical thinking and problem-solving skills by introducing activities that stimulate depth and complexity. I love all things "techie" and have managed to have about an 80% paperless classroom.

I have been married for 28 years to John, and we have three children: Sean, 26, Ryan, 24, and Kathleen, 17. I love to read, spend time with my family, go to the beach, take photographs, collect Longaberger baskets, take vacations in Cambria, watch movies, and travel. I love to snuggle with my Goldendoodle, Barkley, my Labradoodle, Roxy, and adore all things Halloween.
